Mama Buluku is an exhilarating display of music, dance and song, echoing the living traditions of West Africa. Innovative choreographies fuse movement with the playing of big bass “doun doun” drums, whilst live drums and percussion drive high energy polyrhythmic beats!
This all-women’s ensemble – with deep gratitude to their mentors from Guinea & Ghana – offer an intricate weave of primal rhythm and spirited dance into a stunning, visually extraordinary, contemporary, uplifting performance that celebrates the awakening and expression of the powerful life force that exists within all of us.
